WHO WE ARE
NENC Progressives is an inclusive advocacy group that seeks to educate and empower disenfranchised populations of our community and include them in their political process as well as advocate for policies/change that will improve their lives. We believe in equality and human rights for all, including women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. We believe that climate change is real, and that science is important. We believe that Black Lives Matter. We believe that Water is Life. We believe in common sense gun reform. We believe that immigrants make America great, and that no human is illegal. We believe that love is love, that trans people should use whatever bathroom they feel most comfortable in, and that every human deserves respect and a living wage. We are NENC Progressives, and we are here to bring about change.
WHAT WE DO
We advocate for marginalized people in our communities by assisting new voters in registering to vote, organizing direct actions, addressing our local lawmakers, and educating locals on current issues. We meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month in the Pasquotank County Public Safety Building to plan, connect with like-minded locals, and catch up on current events.
